Votes are in/Days 53-56

Day 53: Animal Print Dress with Red Belt with Gold Detail from F21( Yes from F21) with Aldo Super Heels (that to be honest I can barely walk in). Perfect oufit for dinner and drinks at the beach. (Challenge Day 17)

Day 54: Didn't leave the house. The life of a graduate student isn't as exciting as I make it seem.

Day 55: Therapy and Lab. Thirft store Warp Dress. The alterations ended up costing more than the dress with total cost me around 20 bucks (awesome I know). You can't see my feet because I don't have shoes on in this picture. But to be honest, you didn't miss much. It's the same old black flat round toed shoes that have apparead frequently over the last couple of weeks. I will say this...I lost the strap for my favorite (and cuter) flats so these babies are getting a work out. (Challenge Day 18)

Day 56: Test Day. I like to dress cute and comfy to put myself in a better mood sometimes. Jeans, Orange Fitted Tee, and Black Vest finished off with Gold Flats and Tan/Orange Beaded Long Necklaces. (Challenge Day 19)

***After reading followers comments, the 90 days will just be 90 calender days. Thanks everyone who voted for my sanity over the next 34 days. ***

Flag on the Play: Currently Under Review

So in the original blog rules, I stated that if I didn't leave the house that the oufit didn't count against me. One follower believes that those I-didn't-leave-the-house days shouldn't count towards the 90 days. What do you guys think? I am open to suggestions...in fact, I'll let you guys vote. Is it 90 days of 90 different oufits or surviving 90 days without repeating an oufit(with days I don't leave the house still counting)?

Voting closing on Monday, followers.

Days 50-52

Day 50: Therapy Day. Black Knee Capris, Blue Top from Express and Black Wrap/Vest/Sweater Thingy from F21. I originally put on a cute waist belt instead of the Black Vest/Wrap Thingy, but it created a hour-glass figure that was too much for work. (Challenge Day 14)

Day 51: Classes, Research, Supervision, Oh My! Skirt from Day actually worn as a skirt with a white tank, brown belt and brown flats. (Challenge Day 15)

Day 52: Another Day at the VA. NY and Co skirt that I think my bff's mother gave me with a black 3/4 length button up anb black round-toed flats. (Challenge Day 16)

Days 46-49

Day 46: Day = Jean Cropped Pants, my "I Love Being Black" tank and Red Sandals. Night = Yellow Tunic/Dress Thingy from F21, Multi-colored necklace, Brown/Tan Earrings and Brown Flat Sandal from Urban. The recessionista/sale fiend within must admit the night outfit costs a total of $21. Score! (Challenge Day 11)

Day 47: Didn't leave the house, so nothing to report.
Day 48: Blue and White Dress with Red Sandals. I love Target...where I got this entire outfit. (Challenge Day 12)

Day 49: Jeans, Green Stretchy Tee, Green Plaid Vest and Brown Flat with a Gold Buckles. I've been itching to wear this combo for weeks (since its a staple and I wear it all the time). (Challenge Day 13)

Halfway There..... Day 45

Day 45 (Challenge Day 10): Orange Sleeveless Top, Brown Dress Pants and Brown Round Toed Heels from Banana Republic (Outlet)
WOW! It’s been 45 days everyone and I haven’t slipped up…yet. While I was extremely chipper (and arrogant) around Day 33, I am now feeling the pain. After accepting the challenge from Eli to not repeat any clothing item for 30 days, it’s been rough….ROUGH. I must admit I’ve been late to school one or two days because I didn’t lay out my outfit the night before. It’s at the point where I need to create a file on my computer with all the outfits, so I don’t repeat accidently. The ability to put together a non-repeating outfit in 2 minutes is not a skill I’ve mastered yet. When in a rush, I have to mentally go through my closet in my head while brushing my teeth/washing my face. Because when in a rush, I want to fall back on the classics, the easy-to-go-to outfits.

It’s not all bad though. I now have an excuse to look cute no matter where I go or what I do (not that I needed much encouragement anyway).

Thanks/Acknowledgments: Shout-out to HU, where I minored in Fashion. I’m just playing about that minor, but the outfits I wore at Howard that were just plain, regular and casual make me fashionable at UM. I was never a high-heel, trendy girl who used the Yard as her runway, but I’m guessing the tendency to over-dress/dress up for everything has translated into well-dressed finally.

Also, shout-out to Ashley, my source and guide to all things fashion. When I am complimented on style, I think to myself “You have to meet my bff Ashley. She’s the fashionable one”. I know if I do need outfit creation assistance, she’s a mere phone call/text message/tweet/gchat message away.

Last but not least, I would like to thank you all for joining me in my journey. For example, Brandi who sent pictures of cute outfits. Classmates for giving me encouragement. I look forward to spending the next 45 days with you as well. Stay vigilant though. If I slip up, I’ll need your help (especially when I try to decide my self-inflicted punishment).

Days 40-44 (Challenge Days 6-9)

Day 40 (Challenge Day 5): Off to the Adrienne Arsht Center to see “The Harder They Come”. Love it!!!!! Enjoyable, interactive and they serve rum punch too. I love this dress from F21. Super simple, super cute and super cheap.
Day 41 (Challenge Day 6): Off to lab. Old Navy Shorts (clearance steal $8) and an Express stretchy tee (another steal for $6). I guess I should have admitted I am a bit of a clearance rack fiend as well.

Day 42
(Challenge Day 7): Simple dress for a long day of classes and lab. The simple outfits tend to get the most compliments though. Everyone really loved this dress and were surprised to learn I rarely wear it since it’s so cute. Got this little gem from Wet Seal like 4-5 years ago for $9.

Day 43 (Challenge Day 8): Dress like a Clinical Psychologist Day. No skirts at the VA because the veterans don’t need any encouragement. Ann Taylor Dress Pants, Express Black Dress Top with Neck Detail, and Red Flat Sandals. As I put on my dress pants from Ann Taylor, I wondered when I got old enough to shop there. *sigh*

Day 44 (Challenge Day 9): Cute skirt, Black V Neck Top and Black Flat Round Toed Shoes from Urban ($10). This skirt is oooolllllddd…like wore it in high school old. Wow.

Almost Half Way There....

So this Friday will mark the half way point of this journey. In celebration, I would like to give you, my followers, the opportunity to have some input into that celebratory outfit (Day 45). Is there an outfit you liked that you would like to see re-mixed? A trend you would like me to see incorporate into my outfit Friday? Are you a close friend who knows my closet a little too well and would like to see an old classic come out?

Let me know because this Friday is your chance to have me at your fashion mercy.

Days 36-39

Day 36: Therapy day. In retrospect, I should have added a pop of color (myabe using a red necklace or something). But at 6:30 am accessorizing was not my top priority. (Challenge Day 2)
Day 37: Red skirt, cream tank, gold shoes, gold earrings. *Modesty sweater not shown below*
(Challenge Day 3)
Day 38: First outfit: Professional Look with the help of the clothes swap. Black Express Dress Pants, Black Fitted Tee from F21, and Tan Jacket. Added some Gold earrings with White details (I love H&M). Gold flats from Target.
Outfit 2: Jeans, Green and Black Top from Old Navy, Black Wedges. Something cute, simple, and easy for girls night out. (Challenge Day 4)
Day 39: Old Navy Black/Red/Tan Animal Print-Inspired Dress (**$4 steal**) with Red Isaac Mizrahi for Target Sandals. I forgot earrings in my rush to catch my ride to the outlets. (Challenge Day 5)

Day 35 and Chall-ung

So one of you guys actually answered the call for ideas. Miss Eli...sorry Mrs. Eli has requested that I step my game up. When asked how hard it was to go for 30 days without repeating, I apparently didn't seemed phased enough. In order to stress me out, she wants to me repeat no object of clothing.....at all for 30 days. I can repeat accessories and shoes, but not tops, dresses, skirts, pants, etc. Hmmmm....I will accept your challenge. Why? Because when you're slapped with the white glove of a fashion challenge, you must accept the challenge (and I told her if she commented I would do it). So thank you Eli for giving me an excuse not to do laundry for a month.

Since Labor Day is the last day you can wear white (well I live in Miami, so not really), I can't think of a better day to begin the challenge than the day after. Let's go, yall

Day 35: BlackMerano Dress from Target (only $10) with Loeffler Randall for Target flats (~$25) and pearl teardrop earrings from F21($3.80). You can probably guess (correctly) that this was a therapy day. Challenge Day 1 completed.

Days 31-34

I'm back. The beginning of the school year + preparing for Labor Day Weekend = blog slacking. I'm sorry to keep my loyal followers (all twelve of you guys) waiting like this. So I'll cut the small talk and give you what you want.

Day 31: Straight from work to play today. Purple Express top (steal for only $8), Black Express dress pants, Target sweater, pearl necklace, pearl studs and my ol' faithful Target black flats(clearance steal for $5). Used some jeans and some silver flats to take this oufit from therapist to Friday night chill. I would like to note that I had silver hoop earrings on with the nighttime outfit. Due to some technical difficulties (forgetting to put on earrings backs), the earrings didn't make it to the party.

Day 32: Enjoying SoBe with my old college roommate. Relaxed outfit for a chill day. Express cut-off shorts and white halter.

Costume change. Labor Day party. Adren B animal print dress (which I drooled over for months til it hit the clearance rack for $37...its hard to justify an animal print dress that costs over $100 bucks) with purple sky high heels from Aldo (another great steal from Aldo shoe outlet who was having a BOGO sale...so about $20). Oh yeah, can't forget the cute black-bowed, gold hoop earrings I snatched up from Aldo only hours before....

Day 33: Perfect beach day. Coral dress with cute back detail from Papaya and flip flops.

Day 34: Orange, grey and black dress from Love Culture (Forever 21's twin sister), Black and Silver earrings and Black Express flip-flops.
**For those wondering why I have begun including prices, there has been a request for me to give details about some of my fashion steals by a follower**

1/3 Done and Still Going Strong

Wow. It's been 30 days already. Interestingly enough, it hasn't been that hard...so far. I will admit I have been tempted to pull out my old favorites when I'm dressing in a rush though. But overall, it's been more fun than anything. I get to be creative with outfits: turning skirts into dresses, playing up accessories that had been banished to the lonely corner of my jewelry bin (yes, bin), dressing up for no reason, etc.

But what do you think? Of what would you like to see more? Do you think I need to step the shoe game up? Would you like to see a different range of colors in my wardrobe? Would you like to me work some trends into my outfits? Sick of seeing jeans during class? Let me know. I will accept (mostly) any challenge. Come on, people, don't all raise your cyber hands at once....

Last, I would like to say thanks for all those who've come this far with me. We've still got 60 days left. But with your help and watchful eyes, I think..I mean I know I can do it!! Today's outfit coming later this evening.

Days 27-29

Day 27: Outfit's nothing special, but I was excited to wear this necklace that I stole from my boo...I mean acquired at the clothes swap. Jeans, sheer blue henley style top, and sandals. It's a Monday ya'll.

Day 28: Slightly trendy, casual class outfit. I love thisssssss necklace. To tell the truth, I put together this outfit so I could wear this long, silver necklace from H&M with purple detail. So I was "clean in my white tee" (sorry, I couldn't help it), jeans, gray oversized wrap and silver flat sandals..

Day 29: Cute, yet profressional (well Miami professional anyway). Brown capris, blue button up, gold earrings, and brown flat sandals with gold detail from Target. Oh yeah, I'm ballin'
